DegenCity ranks: the eight-step ladder
Chiplet to Ace, XP thresholds included
The DegenCity rewards programme sorts every player into a rank by total XP. The first four ranks are open to everyone who plays; from Hustler upwards the ranks are marked VIP and add personal service.
The thresholds and perks below are per the rewards page at the time of writing. The product shows which perk opens at which rank with icons rather than text, so check the current table in your account before you plan around a specific reward.
Chiplet1,000 XPInstant rakeback, weekly bonus, monthly bonus and rank-up bonus
Ante I–III1,000–5,000 XPEverything from Chiplet plus a bonus increase
Shuffler I–III8,000–25,000 XPSame rewards set, larger amounts as you climb
Dealer I–III34,000–100,000 XPSame rewards set, last tier before VIP

Card Shark I–III VIP1M–3M XPExclusive access
Pitboss I–III VIP5M–15M XPEvent invitations
Ace I–III VIP22M–100M XPAll of the above
Notice the jump after Dealer: 100,000 XP to 250,000 XP is the line between the regular ranks and the VIP group. The perks that most people mean when they say "VIP" start there.
How XP works at DegenCity
Bet size times house edge
XP is not a flat point per dollar. DegenCity counts it as your bet multiplied by the house edge of the game, divided by 1%. A game with a higher edge gives more XP for the same stake, because the casino expects to keep more of it over time.
| Bet | Game | House edge | XP earned |
|---|---|---|---|
| $100 | Blackjack | 1% | 100 XP |
| $100 | Sweet Bonanza | 3.5% | 350 XP |
So $100 on Blackjack at a 1% edge gives 100 XP, while the same $100 on Sweet Bonanza at 3.5% gives 350 XP. To reach Chiplet at 1,000 XP you would need about $1,000 of Blackjack bets, or roughly $286 on a 3.5% slot.
Those figures are turnover, not losses, but a higher-edge game also costs you more on average. Chasing XP by switching to higher-edge games is the same as paying more for each point. Pick games for how you like to play, and treat XP as a side effect.
The provably fair DegenCity Originals count toward XP and the leaderboard too. Their house edge sets the XP rate, just like any slot or table game.
DegenCity rakeback and regular bonuses
Instant, weekly, monthly and rank-up
DegenCity rakeback is instant and starts with your first bet. A share of the house edge on each wager comes back to you as you play, rather than in a lump at the end of the week.
From Chiplet, three scheduled rewards join it:
- DegenCity weekly bonusPaid on a weekly cycle from Chiplet, based on your play over the week. Check the claim window in your account.
- Monthly bonusA larger, less frequent reward from Chiplet, tied to your activity over the month.
- Rank-up bonusA one-off reward each time you move up a rank or tier.
- Ante bonus increaseFrom Ante the same rewards are paid at higher amounts.
The operator does not publish fixed percentages for each rank, so we do not quote any. The amounts depend on your volume and rank and are shown inside your account.
New players also get the 7-Day 10% Cashback: 10% of net slot losses over the first seven days, automatic and with no code. The full terms are on our DegenCity promo code page.

DegenCity VIP perks from Hustler to Ace
What changes once you are marked VIP
- Hustler: VIP hostA personal VIP host and bespoke rewards set around how you play, rather than a fixed menu.
- Card Shark: exclusive accessAccess to offers and features that are not open to the lower ranks.
- Pitboss: event invitationsInvitations to events run by the casino.
- Ace: all of the aboveEvery VIP perk from the ranks below, held together.
These perks are described in a few words on the rewards page, so what a VIP host or bespoke rewards look like in practice is decided case by case. We could not verify the details from outside the programme, and you should not count on a specific reward before it is offered.
If a host contacts you while you are trying to cut back, you can say no and ask for limits instead.
How to request a DegenCity VIP transfer
Bring your rank from another casino
The DegenCity VIP transfer is for players who already hold a VIP status somewhere else. Instead of starting at Chiplet, you ask DegenCity to look at your existing record and place you at a matching rank. The request is a form on DegenCity, not on this site. If you do not have an account yet, start with our DegenCity login and sign-up guide.
- Gather your numbers firstNote the casino you play at now, your username there, your total wagering volume and the VIP rank or tier you hold. A screenshot of your VIP page at that casino makes the numbers easy to check.
- Create or log in to your DegenCity accountThe transfer is attached to a DegenCity profile, so sign up or log in before you start. Our login guide covers both.
- Open the VIP Transfer form on DegenCityFind VIP Transfer in the rewards area of the DegenCity site. The form lives there, on the casino side; this guide has no form of its own.
- Fill in casino, username, volume and rankEnter your current casino, your username, your wagering volume and your rank exactly as they appear on your existing account, then submit the request.
- Wait for the reviewDegenCity says it reviews each request within up to 48 hours. If the transfer is approved, your starting rank is set from the information you sent.
Send real numbers. The review compares what you enter with your history at the other casino, and a status match is a decision by DegenCity, not a promise.

DegenCity leaderboard: daily and weekly prizes
$10,000 weekly, $1,000 daily

The Degen Leaderboard runs two races side by side. The weekly race shares $10,000, with $2,500 for first place. The daily race shares $1,000. Bets on slots, Originals and sports all count.
Points are counted as your bet multiplied by the house edge divided by 0.035. A $100 bet on a 3.5% edge slot gives 100 points; $100 on Blackjack at 1% gives about 28.6 points. As with XP, high-edge games climb faster because they cost more on average.
| Race | Resets | Prize pool |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | 00:00 AEST every day | $1,000 |
| Weekly | Friday 00:00 AEST | $10,000 ($2,500 for 1st) |
The resets follow Australian Eastern Standard Time, not New Zealand time. Strictly, AEST is UTC+10, so midnight AEST is 2:00 am in New Zealand under NZ standard time and 3:00 am while NZ daylight time runs. If the casino means Sydney clock time, which also moves to daylight time, the reset stays at 2:00 am in Auckland. The weekly race closes early on Friday morning NZ time, so check the countdown on the leaderboard page rather than your own clock.

Rewards reward volume: set limits first
An honest note before you chase a rank
Straight answer
Rakeback, XP, ranks and leaderboard points all grow with how much you bet. None of them changes the house edge in your favour. A rank is a record of turnover, and the rewards are a part of the edge handed back, not a profit.
Before you play, decide how much you can afford to lose in a week and stop there, whatever your progress bar says. Take a break if you notice yourself playing to reach the next tier or to hold a leaderboard spot.
DegenCity is an offshore casino run by a Costa Rica company under an Anjouan licence. It holds no New Zealand licence; our notes on its status explain more. You must be 18+ to play online. If gambling stops being fun, call the Gambling Helpline NZ on 0800 654 655, free and confidential, any time.
FAQ
What are the DegenCity ranks?
There are eight: Chiplet, Ante, Shuffler, Dealer, Hustler, Card Shark, Pitboss and Ace. Most have tiers I to III. Hustler and above are VIP ranks. Thresholds run from 1,000 XP for Chiplet to 100M XP at the top of Ace, per the rewards page at the time of writing.
How is DegenCity rakeback paid?
Rakeback is instant: a share of the house edge comes back as you bet, starting with your first wager. You do not need a rank or a code for it.
When does the DegenCity weekly bonus start?
The weekly bonus opens at Chiplet, at 1,000 XP, along with the monthly and rank-up bonuses. From Ante the amounts increase. Amounts depend on your play and are shown in your account.
How long does a DegenCity VIP transfer take?
DegenCity says it reviews VIP Transfer requests within up to 48 hours. You fill in your current casino, username, wagering volume and rank in the form on the DegenCity site.
What time does the DegenCity leaderboard reset in New Zealand?
The daily race resets at 00:00 AEST and the weekly race on Friday at 00:00 AEST. That is 2:00 am in New Zealand under NZ standard time; during NZ daylight time it can be 2:00 am or 3:00 am depending on whether the casino means Brisbane or Sydney time, so trust the on-site countdown.
Does DegenCity rakeback count on Originals and sports?
Yes. XP and rakeback come from every bet, weighted by house edge, so Originals and sports bets count as well as slots. Low-edge games such as Blackjack earn less XP per dollar than a 3.5% slot, so the rank climbs more slowly there.
